Tottenham Hotspur - All time XI - Midfield - Ft. Youtube Clips *best blog yet*

 LM - Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale doesn't quite fit into the Spurs legends category because he has played just 1 outstanding season but, what's to come if he stays is quite exciting ! This season Gareth was noticed all around the world for getting up in the topscorers table and showing off his fine tricks that finish with a thunderbolt of a goal ! He is also a free-kick star... Here is some special clips of Gareth...

All goals (31)-  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHsIzHLctgI

Skills - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-48EfGjpdk

LCM - Glenn Hoddle

Glenn Hoddle, in my opinion is or was the best passing player and the player with the best vision that ever lived. His passing makes Barcelona look like average passers, not only that but did he have a rocket on him and to be honest he had a bit of skill and flair aswell. Although skill isn't his best aspect he still busted a few moves but really, his all about strength and power ! View this clip, it's my favourite youtube clip there is...

RCM - Paul Gascoigne

Gazza, one of the best players in Spurs history! He was a cheeky player with a bad temper but that's one of the things that made him stand out. Gazzas shot was admirable and so was his skill and passing ability, he was at the club for 4 years and made a huge impact! He is a hard player to explain in words so just watch this clip...

LM - Chris Waddle

What made Chris Waddle so different is that he is just like skillers today! His skill was ridiculous and he used it all the time to embarrass defenders, he was also a brilliant crosser and had a great shot on him. He is extremely well remembered so watch this final clip and feel free to watch the other special clips again because they are truly terrific.

Tottenham Hotspur - All time XI - Part1 - Defence

Pat Jennings -

The best goalkeeper in his time and he played at his highest standard whilst with Spurs, he was so good that even rivals Arsenal used to greet him with "Good Morning God" ! The one big upset with Pat was due to all the directors, they treated Pat with such disrespect when he was about to leave and.. because of this he decided to get his own back and join rivals Arsenal, just down the road!

Steve Perryman-

Perryman played in a club record 866 first team appearances, in all competitions for Tottenham Hotspur between 1969 and 1986. He got 39 goals and showed unbelievable talent through his 19 year career at Spurs !

Gary Mabbutt -

I have chosen the great Gary Mabbutt because of his desire to play football and his desire more importantly, to play for Spurs! At 5"10 you will think he is not the strongest player in the world but how wrong could you be ! He also lives with a disease called diabetes and he done well to play how he did.

Ledley King -

Look at my last Spurs post for an overview on King's special career !

Cyril Knowles -

A left back who loved to bomb it upfront and create chances, he became famous for his amazing crossing ability and set pieces. This talent was incredible and he is a player to remember !

Christian Benteke

Right, AVB, we need a natural striker as we should be getting rid of Adebayor and we can't make do with just Defoe! You might be saying... Oh, what about Dempsey, Lennon, Chadli, Vadilla ? None of these players are natural goal scoring strikers, they're wingers. Christian Benteke is a striker and as he proved this season he can score goals, he grabbed a massive 23 goals in the premier league this season and that's what Spurs need. Obviously, we have Gareth Bale aswell and yes, he can score goals but unfortunately theres a good chance he will leave! He is big and good with his head, what other forwards do we have like that?
Right now you're probably thinking, we are getting Benteke so why are you saying this? I'm saying this because I want us to hurry up and... So does Benteke! Benteke has had to go to training with Villa this morning because if he didn't he would have got fined, come on AVB get your hands on this 22 year old star!

Ledley King - The Spurs Legend and his Career- 1998 - 2012

King Ledley was a player with a massive knee problem and a lack of training but, that didn't stop him playing football at an extremely high standard!

Spurs career:

The start -

Ledleys debut was away to Anfield in 1999, we lost 3-2. At first, King was used as a midfielder when first started making it into the first team. One special game that got Ledley recognised and made him a  regular first team player was the game when we beat Liverpool in 2000 ! Lesley's first ever goal was also in 2000 and this goal was a special one as it set a record for the quickest Barclays premier goal, it happened in a 3-3 draw with Bradford City.

The Knee Injury -

Ledley was out with a knee problem at the start of the season and he wasn't back into playing until late September, this was costly as Spurs only managed 3 clean sheets out of 59 games without King in the  side ! When King Ledley was back Spurs faced reigning champions Chelsea at home and in this famous game Spurs went onto win 2-1 ( Ledley being captain ) and this was Spurs' first home win against Chelsea since 1987!

Lesley's first honour of his career was when he captained a win over Chelsea in the 2008 league cup final and even better, this happened some months after surgery !

Although Ledley had to miss most premier league games and played just 4, he got some awards at the end of the season!

2010 - the end! -

Everyone now knows Ledley King's injury can't be treated as there is nothing to treat ( no cartilage in his knee ) he has stopped attending training but as he is such an amazing player he still plays when possible, after guiding Tottenham to their highest ever Premier League finish and securing them a spot in the Champions league Fabio Capello gave him a spot in the 2010 World Cup team!

He then signed a two year contract with Spurs meaning he would stay to 2012.

In 2011 a steel statue was erected of Ledley King in Mile End Park!

In 2012, King announced his retirement from football and was said to be one of the best ever defenders to play the game. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry stated " he was the best defender I ever
played against!". In his whole career Ledley King only got eight yellow cards !

Take a look at some of King's greatest goals and tackles, enjoy ...

Top 5 goals in football history

Zlatan Ibrahimovich-

This goal was wonderful and it's definitely something to remember, not only was it miles out and he shouldn't have even thought about taking the shot... let alone backwards ! Zlatan is an extremely gifted player and he proved it when he owned the whole England team and scoring 4 goals in that game !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwp&v=Ck5P30zC3Z0&NR=1

Roberto Carlos ( NOT FREEKICK) -

Look, normal people don't score goals like this and let's face it Roberto Carlos is far from normal! He was one of the best ever footballers in the world and some of the goals he scored were stupidly good, this one especially...  the way he scores from an angle of around 0.8 degrees is quite extraordinary and not only that but he caught it extremely well and you need to see the curve on the ball !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOmqDOi4DH0

Gaston Mealla -

Oh my god, how the hell did he score this one and... why did he even try that? Not many people in the world can do that scorpion flick but he managed to do it while the ball was in the air and also he managed to direct it right into the corner of the net ! Just watch this excellence !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydAAbf0y4l8

Ricardo Fernandes -

This goal, very similar to Gastons was another one of them overhead flicks and this time it was even better... it didn't go into the bottom corner but it went into the top and... at the far post ! To this with precision is excellent but to do it with power aswell, that's out of this world !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldDu8hR-kTw

Diego Maradona -

Argueably the best player ever lived and argueably the best goal ever scored ! In this goal the ball drops to Diego's feet from about 65 yards out and he controls it down then runs around anyone in his way and after skipping past players for 60 odd yards he is then surrounded by a defender and the goalkeeper but.. that don't scare Diego and he just skips past the goalkeeper and slots it home !

Starting XI for Swindon

here's the starting xi for the game against Swindon ...

Starting line-up - Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Stewart, Naughton; Bentaleb, Huddlestone, Sigurdsson; Bale, Ceballos, Defoe.

I think this game will be a tough game but my bet would be Swindon 1 - 3 Spurs !

I'm sure AVB will change the team around lots to see which players he thinks as future first team players !

Anyway that's the line up and COYS !

Spurs' first pre season Game Review

Yesterday Spurs took on Brentford FC at Hotspur Way in a behind closed doors friendly. The team was a mix of the first team and development squad. The team for the first half was Friedel, Naughton, Dawson, Caulker, Rose, Mason, Huddlestone, Bentaleb, Lennon, Bale and Obika. We took the lead through none other than Gareth Bale but then found ourselves trailing 2-1 by half time, with goals from Alan McCormack and a penalty from Will Gregg.

The boys returned for the second half with a completely different XI of Archer, Smith, Kaboul, Verthongen, Stewart, Parker, Carroll, Sigurdsson, Townsend, Defoe and Ceballos.Jermain then scored 2 goals before the final whistle to secure a 3-2 win  over Brentford. This wasn't no easy game and in fact was a hard thought game for Spurs. This game however wasn't to smash our opponents but to work on fitness for the new season ahead and the boys will aim to show their class in the game on Tuesday night against Swindon Town.

Top 5 goals of the season !!!

5. Aaron Lennon vs Sunderland

The skill used to score this goal was incredible not only that but the finish was top notch too. He also had to react very quick to even get the chance.

4. Jermain Defoe vs West Ham

The skill and technique of Jermain here is Brilliant and well it showed to us Spurs fans that he still is as good at putting the ball in the back of the net now as he ever was.

3. Gareth Bale vs Sunderland

This goal was Excellent by Bale. The technique once again couldn't be flawed and hopefully this isn't his last goal for Spurs but only a guide to what we may see next season.

2. Emmanuel Adebayor vs Chelsea

Despite a Terrible season for Spurs this goal was excellent and surprised everyone in the country because he couldn't hit a barn door for the other games in the season but this strike was the complete opposite and was perfectly executed.

1. Gareth Bale vs West Ham

This goal was truly amazing from a truly amazing player. It was amazing how he could strike the ball so well from a stationery position and so precisely. What made the goal even better was that it was the winning goal in the last minute in a London derby.

Tell me whether you agree with my decision if not what would your top 5 be ?
