Liverpool vs Stoke match review

The first game of the season was a brilliant one and it was enjoyed by everyone watching.

Liverpool absolutely dominated this game right from the first whistle until the final whistle!

Liverpool had many, many chances; including hitting the bar once, a disallowed goal and some other good chances on goal.

The two goalkeepers Simon Mignolet and Begovic were on another level, Mignolet made around 5 great saves including one penalty save and even the rebound! We all like a keeper that can pull off quick double saves. And for Begovic - the man of the match in this game well, he was even better than Mignolet making more saves but letting in one great strike from Daniel Sturridge. Although, Simon Mignolet did make a few mistakes including the one where he basically set up Robert Huth for an open goal where he unfortunately for him hit the bar!

So this extremely eventful game finished 1-0 to Liverpool and the win was deserved!

What will happen for Tottenham next season

End of the window -

I feel Spurs are in a very good position right now and even if our squad stays the same I would still be more than satisfied with our progress in the transfer window. Although, I'm very sure Levy and AVB will sign more players and I'm sure they will bring the best out of us, also, another reason that backs my point that we will get even better and make more progress is that AVB stated himself : " The squad is not finished and it will take until the very last day to complete the team".

Gareth Bale -

In my opinion, our star man Gareth Bale despite all the rumours and the tenptation to swipe £100m from Real Madrid we won't sell Gareth as he is just too crucial to our team to sell for any price but the main reason is again due to something said- this time from Levy and he insisted he will not do business when Gareth Bale is involved. Although Gareth may miss the first game(s) when he comes back and gets back into that Spurs shirt he will make a huge impact on the team, just like last season.

Objectives -

Obviously our main objective, Champions League. One we missed out on last season but are really dedicated to conpleting. I'm sure if we can get 75 points, what I know we can- we will finish 3rd in the table and qualify.

So, as mentioned before I think we can manage to get 75 points with the new talent brought in and the big, big  money going out this could be our season!

I also think we can have a good cup run in a domestic cup and my way bet is the FA cup and in my opinion, we can win the FA cup in the upcoming season.

Awards -

Star man - Gareth Bale
Top goalscorer - Roberto Soldado
Best defender - Jan Vertongen
Biggest Improvement from last season - Kyle Walker
Fan favourite - Sandro
Disappointment - Nacer Chadli
Most assists - Gareth Bale
Most consistent - Jan Vertongen

Summary -

Obviously I might be totally wrong with the awards of course but that is just my opinion.

Overall,  I feel Spurs will have one of their best seasons for a while and beat their record again that was beaten last year with 72 points, lets hope we can get around 75 this year.

Spurs could win the Barclays Premier League 2013/14

This blog will feature Liverpool FC, Arsenal FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC, Manchester City FC, Chelsea FC and Manchester United FC.

It is going to be about the events of last season, what has happened in the transfer window and what the changes have been. I will include what I think will happen for each team next season and why others will finish infront of others.

Let's start by saying what will happen with Tottenham. Spurs have got a real good chance this season and have already signed 3 almost 4 players and they can all only make the team better than it already is and Spurs have also got back two vital players back they missed out on last season due to injury ( Kaboul and Sandro ). Besides the fact Spurs have an outstanding first team for next season and it will be hard for any team to beat their competition they have to come up against are at a disadavantage, the reason for this is that the teams finishing ahead in previous seasons haven't made nearly as much transfer progress.

Arsenal for example, they have not spent a penny this window and have hardly improved at all over this window and that is great news considering they are our main rivals and knowing we have more chance at this season than them is great because it narrows down the teams that could finish above us next season.

Almost in exactly the same situation as Arsenal is Manchester United but this window they haven't stayed the same or made progress but they have gone down hill... the reason for this is losing the heart and soul of their team Sir Alex Ferguson and after all those years at Old Trafford everyone knows United will never be the same. Sir Alex is the main issue but obviously aswell as that they haven't signed many significant players and again this puts Tottenham at an advantage over Arsenal and United.

Onto Chelsea, a team that has improved from last season as former manager Jose Mourinho rejoins Chelsea and we all know what happened last time Mourinho bossed Stamford Bridge, he was amazing and he brang the best out of Chelsea and showed he was one of the greatest managers in the world. With one of the greatest managers in the world Chelsea were a brilliant team and the league title was what they were after but ever since he left they have been signing new managers non-stop and they have just not been as successful. On the other hand, Chelsea haven't signed as much players as they should be and everyone knows they have been wasting all their time trying to sign United striker Wayne Rooney.

The other two options City and Liverpool, let's start with Liverpool a team that really weren't contenders for anything last season but have massively improved and signed some good players. I predict they will finish 6th this season and that finish is good considering recent years for Liverpool. City, the rich team from Manchester have improved significantly since last year splashing the cash and making their team incredible, they also have a chance at the title next season.

Overall, I feel Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool cannot get the league title this season and in my opinion it will end like this;

1 - Chelsea
2 - Manchester City
3 - Spurs
4 - Manchester United
5 - Arsenal
6 - Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur vs Espanyol Match Review !

This was Spurs' last pre season game before the start of the season and to be fair more positives came out of the result that negatives despite a rather poor result. It was a very exciting day at the lane where Soldado, Paulinho and Chadli all appeared in front of the Tottenham fans in North London but that wasn't the only excitement because fan favourites Younes Kaboul and Sandro made their long awaited come back from injury.

We started extremely well and in the first five minutes we should have been one up. A Gylfi Sigurdsson free kick found Paulinho's head who headed the ball into the corner but was denied a dream start to his Spurs career as the offside flag went up when it arguably shouldn't have. Spurs kept up the pressure with Soldado looking extremely dangerous. After 29 minutes of excellent football we were finally rewarded a penalty when Danny Rose was taken down in the box by Javi Lopez. Soldado stepped up and put the ball right into the corner, he couldn't have asked for a better first thirty minutes for his new club. But the tempo slowed down after the goal and Espanyol who were kept in their own half in the first thirty minutes were allowed to push forward. The lack of defensive players was visible and they looked quite dangerous going forward. Just before half time Espanyol managed to get the equaliser from a corner where David Lopez was able to head the ball into the near post. The second half saw the return of Kaboul and Sandro but despite a near winner from Andros Townsend the substitution of the two was the biggest excitement of the second half.

Overall I was very impressed by the performance of the team especially in the first half. Chadli really impressed me with his great skill and in my opinion he was the man of the match. Paulinho was denied a dream start to his Spurs career but nevertheless he still performed excellently and definitely looks to be a great signing but out of the three new signing the one that excited me the most was Soldado. He looked extremely dangerous and has already scored at the Lane. He is what I think we were missing last year and now that we have him I think if we keep Bale we can challenge for the title, the football played yesterday was great and it proved a real difficulty for Espanyol to defend against and in my opinion I can see us challenging at the top with that style of football. But yesterday also proved some things we need to work on. The defending from corners was atrocious and we were lucky to only concede once from a corner and the final thing that needs to be worked on is the defence. Yesterday I was not comfortable watching Fryers and Dawson at the back and I think that another defender is desperately needed before the end of the transfer window. Next stop Crystal Palace.
